2026-10-02 10:20:00

Model Overview

The Chery Fulwin T6 is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) C-segment SUV under Chery's Fulwin new energy vehicle series. Officially launched on 20 June 2024, the model is offered in three variants: AIR, PRO, and MAX, with official retail prices ranging from RM129,900 to RM156,900. Serving as an integral member of the Fulwin lineup, the Fulwin T6 is powered by Chery's Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM system. Key segment rivals include other plug-in hybrid SUVs such as the BYD Song Pro DM-i and Geely Galaxy L7.

Design Language

In terms of styling, the Fulwin T6 inherits the overall silhouette of the Chery Tansuo 06 C-DM while sporting a bespoke front fascia. The front end adopts a closed-off grille flanked by split full-width headlights, featuring an upper continuous LED light strip and lower LED headlamps. A black trapezoidal air intake is retained at the lower front bumper to channel vital cooling airflow to the engine bay. Along the sides, a continuous shoulder line is paired with flush pop-out door handles, whilst blacked-out A, B, C, and D-pillars create a floating roof aesthetic. Round the back, the full-width LED taillights incorporate a chequered flag graphic; the lower bumper integrates extensive smoked black and silver-grey accents with a diffuser element, complemented by a "C-DM" emblem signifying its electrified credentials. Dimensionally, the SUV measures 4,540 mm long, 1,865 mm wide, and 1,670 mm tall (1,672 mm for selected variants), riding on a 2,672 mm wheelbase. Wheel options comprise 18-inch (235/55 R18) and 19-inch (235/50 R19) alloy wheels. Inside, the Fulwin T6 embraces a minimalist cockpit, featuring a flat-bottom three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a 10.25-inch full digital instrument cluster, and a portrait-oriented 13.2-inch central touchscreen. Gear selection is handled via an electronic steering column-mounted stalk shifter. The cabin places a strong emphasis on tactile quality, boasting extensive soft-touch upholstery complemented by refined contrast stitching.

Powertrain and Performance

The Fulwin T6 is powered by the Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM system, pairing a fifth-generation ACTECO 1.5TGDI dedicated hybrid engine with a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. The 1.5T engine delivers a maximum output of 115 kW (approx. 156 PS) and 220 Nm of torque, while the front electric motor generates 150 kW (approx. 204 PS) and 310 Nm. Total system output stands at 265 kW (approx. 360 PS) and 530 Nm of torque. Power is delivered through a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), enabling a top speed of 180 km/h.

Energy is supplied by an 18.32 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack sourced from FinDreams Battery. Pure electric range is rated at 120 km under CLTC test cycles, and 93 km on the WLTC cycle. Total combined cruising range on the WLTC cycle reaches up to 1,300 km. The WLTC combined fuel consumption is rated at 1.27 L/100 km, with a depleted battery (charge-sustaining) fuel economy of 4.9 L/100 km. For DC fast charging, a 30% to 80% state of charge (SoC) takes roughly 19 minutes, while AC charging requires 3 hours. The vehicle also supports a 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) power supply function. The recommended fuel minimum is RON 92 petrol.

Chassis and Handling

Under the skin, the Fulwin T6 features front MacPherson struts and an independent multi-link rear suspension setup. The drivetrain is configured in front-wheel drive (FWD), complemented by an electric power steering (EPS) system. Braking is handled by front ventilated discs and rear solid disc brakes. The chassis setup delivers a pliant yet well-supported ride, with the multi-link rear axle offering commendable body control and cornering stability. On the move, the hybrid powertrain transitions seamlessly between petrol and electric drives with negligible vibration upon engine start-up, while pure electric urban cruising remains quiet and refined. Off-road clearance figures include approach and departure angles of 20° and 23° respectively, alongside a maximum water-wading depth of 500 mm.

Cabin and Equipment

On the technology front, the Fulwin T6 comes standard across all variants with an automotive-grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset. The infotainment suite supports 4G LTE connectivity, full-car FOTA over-the-air updates, online navigation, and intelligent voice control. Smartphone integration includes Apple CarPlay and Huawei HiCar. Higher-spec trims gain a Head-Up Display (HUD), while a wireless smartphone charging tray is located beneath the centre console.

For comfort amenities, synthetic leather upholstery is standard across the range. The entry-level AIR variant gets a 6-speaker audio system and automatic air conditioning; the mid-spec PRO variant adds an operable panoramic sunroof, a power-adjustable driver seat, and dual-zone automatic climate control; the top-spec MAX variant further adds multi-colour ambient lighting and a hands-free powered tailgate. Rear occupants benefit from dedicated rear air vents as well as USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports. The 60:40 split-folding rear seats fold flat to maximise boot and cargo versatility.

Safety and Driver Assistance

In terms of safety, the Fulwin T6 is engineered in accordance with global five-star crash safety standards. It adopts a high-strength cage body structure, with high-strength steel accounting for 80% of the body-in-white (BIW). Both front and rear crumple zones are reinforced with aluminium alloy impact beams. For passive safety, the AIR trim comes standard with dual front airbags and front side airbags, while the PRO trim upgrades to full-length side curtain airbags. On the battery safety front, the Guardian Battery Safety System provides IP68-rated dust and water resistance (96 times the national standard), capable of executing high-voltage power cut-off within 2 milliseconds in a collision. The maximum water-wading depth is rated at 500 mm.

For active safety, the flagship MAX variant is equipped with a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Key ADAS features include full-speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Centring Assist (LCA), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), and Front Vehicle Departure Alert. A 540° HD panoramic camera system with a 180° transparent underbody chassis view is also equipped.

Market Performance and Reception

The Fulwin T6 has experienced a relatively subdued market response following its launch. With Chery keeping specific sales numbers under wraps, market analysts suggest deliveries have fallen short of expectations, registering around 3 units in February 2026 and approximately 42 units in March 2026. In terms of market reception, automotive reviews have commended the Fulwin T6 for its punchy hybrid performance (265 kW combined output) and fuel efficiency (4.9 L/100 km depleted battery fuel consumption). However, its close mechanical and cosmetic similarities to the Tansuo 06 C-DM across platform architecture, interior layout, and powertrain have led some industry observers to view it as a "rebadged" model. Additionally, restricting Level 2 ADAS exclusively to the flagship MAX trim sets a relatively high barrier to entry compared to segment rivals. Overall, underpinned by key highlights such as the Kunpeng Super Hybrid powertrain, 120 km pure electric range, over 1,300 km combined range, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processing power, and global five-star safety credentials, the Fulwin T6 presents a solid product package in the RM120,000 to RM160,000 PHEV C-segment SUV market, even as it navigates fierce market rivalry and brand perception hurdles.
